School Resources

CAVATINA has commissioned Classics Explained to create a cartoon video aimed at KS2 children to introduce the concept of chamber music.

Various of the ensembles and music organisations we work with have also developed their own resources for use in schools. All are free of charge and further details are as follows:

Odd Dog Dancing Queens!.jpg

Magnard Ensemble · Odd Dog Out

A free set of resources for teachers of nursery, reception, and KS1, all of which accompany a musical animated film of Rob Biddulph's picture book, Odd Dog Out.

Carducci Quartet

Carducci Quartet · KS1 & KS2 Videos

The Carducci Quartet - through their own charitable trust - have developed two series of videos for the free use of KS1 & KS2 classes.

IMS Video

IMS · KS2 & KS3 Videos

An accessible and engaging concert, presented by Patrick Bailey, and performed by musicians from the International Musicians' Seminar, Prussia Cove.

There are two versions available: one for KS2 and another for KS3. Each concert lasts approximately 50 minutes and includes performances of eight short and diverse pieces for string quartet.

These are free for schools. Please e-mail cmeh@cornwall.gov.uk for a link and access code.
