An annual in-house CAVATINA Chamber Music Competition is held at Trinity College of Music.
This has become a well-established event in the calendars of both Trinity College and CAVATINA. The Finals of the eighth Competition were held on 23rd May 2010 in the Peacock Room, King Charles Court, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich.

The winners of the CAVATINA Chamber Music Competition at Trinity College of Music were
The GOLDEN TRIO (Valtie Nunn - violin, Paloma Garcia Oliver - cello and Manuel Lopez Jorge - piano) playing Dvorak’s ‘Dumky' Trio Op.90.
The Audience Prize was awarded to The CADENZA TRIO (Ilya Movchan - violin,
Alisa Liubarskaya - cello, Alissa Tavdidishvili - piano) playing Schumann’s Piano Trio No 2, Op.80.
The O3 TRIO, although not prizewinners on this occasion, gave a lively and exciting account of Bartok’s ‘Contrasts’.
The Adjudicators were Cecilia McDowall and Michael Dussek.

In April 2009, a new Inter-Collegiate CAVATINA Competition for string quartets from all the UK Conservatoires took place as part of the Greenwich International String Quartet Festival. The winners were the Kallisto Quartet of the Royal College of Music and the Halcyon Quartet of Trinity won the Audience Prize.
This will be a biennial event with the Greenwich International String Quartet Festival.

The final of the Early Keyboard Ensemble Competition at Fenton House NW3 took place on June 10th 2010.

The winning ensemble were SECONDA PRATTICA (Beaatrice Scaldini - violin,
Julia Kuh - violin, Carina Drury - cello, Nat Mander - haprsichord)
They played L’Apotheose de Corelli by Couperin.
The Audience Prize was won by LES MÉLOMANES, (Alexandra Kloss – recorder,
Stephen Padder – violin, Kathleen Ross – cello, Rani Orenstain – harpsichord).
They played Suite in G minor from Pièces en Trio by Marais.
